History
Once upon a time, Williston rodeos were held at the city football field. Times were a different back then, and we were able to have a parade prior to the annual high school rodeo that went right down Noble Avenue.
In 1993, the city installed irrigation on that field, so they offered our community an alternate location. On April 15th of that year, the first organized meeting of, what would soon be called Williston Horseman’s Association, was held in the agricultural building at the high school. Just one short month later, the group submitted the Articles of Incorporation to the state, thus starting a legacy.
Then the real work began. Too many to name, generously gave of their time, money, and supplies.
That first year, with a tremendous amount of community support, 500 people became WHA members.
